We here at MANASSES HENRY
FURNITURE COMPANY
would like to introduce you to our solid lumber furniture, crafted to
create
heirloom quality. This is an investment that will last a lifetime.
<> Our furniture is handmade by our craftsmen right here in
Northern
Indiana.
Several pieces were designed by our great grandfather in the mid
1800's. Manasses Henry Furniture
is built one piece at a time with a hand
rubbed oil finish. We use linseed and watco oil. These two products
enhance the life of the furniture and are both non-toxic and
environmentally
safe. We also feature dovetailed drawers with solid lumber
bottoms. All of our furniture is built from dried, furniture
grade
lumber; primarily
oak, cherry, maple or quarter sawn white oak. It is important to
remember
that both heredity and environment affect a tree's structure and wood
grain.
Therefore, each piece of furniture is uniquely different from all
others.
Each type of wood will show its own characteristics of color and
graining.
Rather than warrant against these natural characteristics, we present
them
to you as unique traits of solid lumber furniture. >
All cherry furniture will
mellow or darken with age;
therefore, a newly
finished piece may be lighter in color than one which has been finished
for some time. With time, however, the difference between the two
pieces
will gradually diminish. Oak, maple, quarter sawn white oak may also
change
slightly, especially if placed in direct sunlight.
Slight shrinking may be
caused by changes in humidity in
your home.
We recommend the use of an air conditioner and humidifier to control
the
humidity in your home.
